Actually, I can’t believe it is August already! My last post was May? Really? Those bloggers who put out a post every week on a regular schedule are amazing! Where do the find the time? These people are both completing projects (or research or whatever it is they do) and then reporting out on their activities like clockwork. Honestly, I can’t even find that much to say about what I’m doing, although I am keeping busy.
So what has happened since I last posted? Two camping trips in the new fifth wheel RV, including one in Vermont so that I could attend the Vermont Quilt Festival. I volunteered, I took 4 classes, I viewed the show, I shopped. At then end of a week, I was exhausted, but inspired. Just a quick image to give a feeling for the show – a very few of the amazing quilts entered:
I encourage you to go to the VQF site and see the “Best in Show” quilts for this year.
In addition to the quilts entered into the show, there were special exhibits that covered the gamut of quilting, from the best of this year’s modern quilt convention, QuiltCon 2018, to a display of antique applique quilts.
While we were there, we camped at the Little River State Park near Waterbury, VT. The park was gorgeous! Larry and Sophie had a great time hiking and just sitting about there. I didn’t have so much time there, so we’ll have to take their word for the great hikes and beach, but I can say it was definitely a great park.
I’m also making progress on my #2018MakeNine projects. I am aware, however, that blog posts, while longer than Facebook posts, should still be fairly brief, so I will put that progress in a separate post, which I will (hopefully) find time to complete soon.
